Do you have to have LG drive to burn or to Backup Wii Game? Meaning all of you have LG drive when you burn or backup? I've tried Internal IDE Plextor &LiteOn, TSSTCorp (Dell Laptop's ) and Sony Slim Drive external USB, didn't work any. Tried both on Vista 64 and XP Pro... Should I buy LG GBC-H20LI or any LG DVDRW drive??

You can use just about any dvd burner made,,,although newer the better

the special LG DVD-ROM drive is just a reader and is only used to rip originals on your pc.

now as far as not working...need more info.... media brand, type, burn speed, burning prog, settings.....

Which way is best to connect the LG GDR-8164B to the PC

In order to rip my original WII games and to create a backup on blank media, I could connected via internally, externally USB, IEEE 1394 or eSATA.

*Any suggestion on what's the most effective method in general is definitely welcomed.

Will the LG GCC H23N work for making backups of Nintendo Wii games? My current Dell No-Name POS does not read the Nintendo Wii Original Games.

Raw Dump will support internal and external Setup...

I have mine set up external (own laptop) via a USB 2.0 case that I had left over after my external HP Lightscribe Burner died. The external cases will accept any DVDrom and even Harddrives.

Wow this is gay. It's not really hacking the Wii if you need a dam mod chip to play all the burnt games The reason I'm saying this is because I don't have a mod chip! :P
How is it not really hacking the wii with a mod chip?

    Burning compress isos

    Hey

So how do I burn compress files for them to work on my wii? Ex. the mariokart(compress).iso wont work, however other backup games work fine.

    My chip is a D2pro.

I am having trouble reading an original Wii Disc.

I have a LG 8163B DVD ROM drive. I downloaded IMGburn. When it starts to read the disc it comes up with an error that it cannot read the disc.

What am I doing wrong and/or what do I need to do to make this work?

I believe you need to read the disc with RAWDUMP.
