RE-EDIT: fixed it, had to burn at 1x speed :| ugh
I have heard of this problem popping up specifically for the ASUS DVD burner. Some fixes that I remember being reported:Originally Posted by julianelronco [Only Registered Members May View Links| Click here to register]
1. sometimes this problem is running ImgBurn under Vista and goes away under XP
2. some have fixed by doing a firmware upgrade
3. some reported having to use different software such as CDBurnerXP (not sure about the Wii tie-in here though)-I recall this was for a Vistax64 system. Hope this info helps ou or others.

That happened to mee too. You're just putting it in the wrong way...
But I see you reburned it and it worked.
okay this has happened to me TWICE already with Top Spin 3 NTSC! I burned it at 2x and 1x and i still got the Unable to Read DVD error. what's going on?

but a vid in youtube didnt have a mod chip an he can still play games on it and i did what he did and it worked fine and ive played downloaded games
I got Verbatim DVD-Rs but they won't write at 1x. The lowest they'll do is 2x. The DVDs are rated up to 16x. Should I have bought slower ones to get 1x support?
Neogamma is giving the 1101 Disc Read error, and I guess that's why?
I've tried both the DAO and Incremental settings, and different ISOs (just in case the first ISO was bad and not loading because of that).
So that's several different variables and always the 1101 error. I don't need DVDX installed to read off the DVD media, do I?
Maybe I'll just cut my losses and go with USB loading. That would save my drive laser anyway.
Can't wait to try it, hope this works.
As a last-ditch effort I tried burning via my girlfriend's Macbook. It let me burn the Verbatim DVD-R at 1x speed, but it STILL didn't work. I don't know if anything else could be wrong, since the Verbatims at the slowest possible speed are touted as "never fails". Unless anyone has anything crazy to try, I'll just be looking into a USB hard drive.

Easy for you to say, no it doesn't.Originally Posted by smasher164 [Only Registered Members May View Links| Click here to register]
I've since heard that LU39 models have a new drive that simply won't allow burnable discs of any kind and that you have to go with USB. Wish I knew that after burning about 10 different test discs, and buying the spindle in the first place.
New at this, but what seems to work for me and as they say if it works dont change
I'm using a HP CD/DVD Lightscribe Writer rated at 16x for DVD
I also use Nero v7.6.0 and burn the iso's ive downloaded from the net at 16x speed without any problems whatsoever, done approx 25 burns and all are working fine except the PAL one i did as it wont recognize it, which is another issue for another room here. Have installed a Drive-Key chip, works flaulessly.
** I use exclusively FUJI DVD's
