I just tried the code downloader and am having a bit of a problem. On step 6, it says that it will download all codes, but that doesn't seem to be the case. It comes up with about 8 games (the first few games in abc order). So I pick one and then it will eventually say bad header, then kick me back to HBC.

What is that about? I thought it would download ALL codes for the system you pick?

EDIT: I now see you can press right to go to the next page, but I still don't see how to download all codes.

Make sure everything is in order on the sd card and also check to see if the txt file did indeed download to the sd card.
You should receive a message that says "Removing Header" and then , you will be kicked back to HBC.

I haven't ran in to that problem...
What game are you trying to get the codes for so I can try and see if I get the same error.(Or does it happen with all games?)

I see you edited the guide now. You made it sound as if after picking a console system, you will download ALL codes for every game in one go.

Before the edit there was nothing about selecting your game, so I was really under that impression.

So I guess nothing is wrong then. Thanks

Does anyone have any suggestions if a code doesn't work? Trying to get a single code for Resident Evil 4 US Gamecube version. ('modify current weapon to any' code)

Is it necessary to use the (M) master codes for Wiird or are those strictly for Action Replay formatted codes? I noticed there isn't any master code listed when I update through the USB Loader GX cheat manager. So I guess not, eh?

The game just straight up black screens after the Dios Mios screen. And yes, it boots up fine without Ocarina on.

I had a problem with loading Gamecube codes as well, what I had to do was put them on the HDD that I was loading the Games from and they needed to be at the root of the HDD...Like so, Usb:/G4BE08.gct , Usb:/G4BE08.Txt etc. Make sure to change paths if necessary.

Also I don't see that code in which you mention as well.
Also , I believe when you create the Gct file it is converted over so that the code can be read. I haven't had any trouble with that part at all.
From what I can see there is no master code for that game , so no.

These are the codes I found for that game.

    @Jax,

I actually just figured out the problem just a couple hours ago. haha

The code in question is called "Weapon Equipped Is..", and I got it from BSFree. Ugh. This code is garbage, though.

Anyway, I fixed it by re-ripping the game. I originally ripped it from a multi-ISO disc I had it on from years ago.(I figured it would be quicker ripping 2, 3, 4 games from a disc in one go; bad idea, evidently), and after re-ripping it straight from the original disk, the file size was about 0.03 GB bigger than the problematic uncompressed one. woohoo.

I might have narrowed down the problem much earlier had I not been stubborn enough to diagnose it by trying out another game. (Pikmin 2 worked fine with codes, which also happened to be from a multi-disc ISO, oddly enough..)

I have no idea how or why that would equate to a game freezing up when I use cheats, but working fine otherwise? It is what it is, I guess.

Lastly, if you ever have time, I think you could add additional info for those that want to try out some cool new Action Replay codes that they might have come across. It is a bit of work, though, and so far I've only tried, cared for, or have seen a decrypter for Gamecube.

It involves taking a code that is in encrypted Action Replay format (Gamecube) (4-4-5 format, example: FQUW-D192-0YU53) and using a particular program to decrypt it. After that, take your newly unencrypted AR code, and run it through another program that will convert it to the Wiird format (8-8) that we are accustomed to seeing. Then, simply put it in a txt file with the appropriate game ID, and filename and loading it up in the Cheat Manager, doing what you need to do, and exporting it to the .gct file. You surely know the rest now.

Codes/Cheats isn't always about becoming advantageous, and the Gecko Codes site only seems to have mostly 'serious' codes. There are more codes around the net if you just google (such as the above site). And so much more fun to be had such as turning enemies into cows or spawning a boss in the middle of a village were he isn't supposed to be!
