New Wii Firmware Update 3.3 Rev2 - Oct 23rd 2008

You know it's pure chance that I didn't install the 3.3 update because I didn't have my Wii hooked up for awhile, but now I'm really glad after hearing about all the lost functionality. I'm still on the good old 3.2 which seems to be a fork in the road, so to speak, because I can either update to 3.3 (yeah right) or choose the path of a cIOS.

I really hope for all the folks who already updated that someone figures out a way to downgrade or otherwise reactivate all the hacking features lost with the update.

You would think after the whole fiasco with the Sony PSP that people would be more hesitant to jump on the latest update. But, the good news is in the end, somebody always finds a way around.

The upgrade doen't affect any modchips just the homebrew scene, but I still not recommend updating to the new Wii FW

I think they should start with a downgrader. They found a way to get the HBC installer working after the update, so they should find a way to downgrade soon.

ok thanks but ithink i need the shop chanel to get wiispeak when itcomes out, i need to update to get wiispeak

should i jus do it?
i got a wiizard of spyman(well itsnot here yet but yh)

also can u only downgrade firmware with hombrew?

but if i have a modchipp nothing should happen right..

The update only effects homebrew..
So if you're just looking to play backups with your modchip, you're safe. Wiizard is a good modchip too.

does 3.4 even exist? because 3.3 v2 didnt do any of the upgrades from de frontpage
