It means that everything you keep on that little Wii memory is going to be on SD cards instead. Opening the horizons for all the channels you want and DLC for games.
I can see a pitfall here.
To take advantage of this new feature, (when it's released) you'll need to update the Wii system firmware. What implications would that have for HBC and Modchips etc.???

So, I wonder if this means that the WAD installer will install the files from one directory on the SD card into another directory on the SD card.

no real need to reprogram wad installer, install wad onto wii, goto wii settings, copy game onto sd card.

Its not 2mb, its actually 2GB SD card that is the max size, any larger than that the Wii cannot handle due to its limitations.

seems as though theyre copying the idea of the New Dsi. Its gonna use its sd card slot to download content and take pics and store music and video.

I must say that I'm happy Nintendo even tried, however we must all admit to ourselves that they did take a minimalist approach. Now don't get me wrong. It's awesome to be able to load things directly from the SD card. It's not the state of the solution that's the problem, the problem is that the Wii is only capable of reading SD cards, no larger than 2 GB. this in turn makes your storage solution more expensive in the long run, because I'm sure as we all know by now the actual value of say, a 6 GB SD card is more so than that of a 2 GB SD card. If you have to go out and buy 3, 2 GB SD cards it would more than likely cost you more money than if you were to buy a 6 gigabyte SD card. I can't speak for the rest of you, but I must say that for me, this would be an inconvenience and a waste of my hard earned cash.

Although SDHC is better than SD, it's still better than the current.
I've been hearing rumours about PLaying games thorugh the USB.
So I say wait and see where Wii takes you.
