Hack Brings Region Free to the Wii Without a Modchip
A group of software enthusiasts are showing off a program that loads through the Wii homebrew channel and allows you to run international Wii and Gamecube discs in spite of existing region protection. Seeing as the hack is completely software-based and Nintendo has eliminated the functionality of older Wii region protection workarounds (Freeloader, specifically), the unnamed exploit looks like the next big thing for those of you willing to navigate Japanese menus to play titles a few days/months early. And it should be downloadable soon reports gizmodo.com
Col now i can play all of my japanese games!!!! O wait, I don't have any japanese game?!?!!? Well, thats cool i guess.
We're sorry, this video is no longer available.
Weak...

What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.
Screw the Whales! Save the Shrubs!
yes, works for me too..
Isnt this just the same as gecko region free
Ummm its for PAL ONLY
Notes:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These hacks only work with the systemmenu 3.2E(v290)
If you have any other version it will just return to the loader.
Be aware!!

That does work on NTSC Wiis.
In fact, people report that the region-free setting for wii/gamecube discs works better on NTSC Wiis than on PAL.
& all the people that are complaining about it not always working for Virtual Console games need to download Freethewads and just make the channels region-free themselves. It's a lot easier than having to run an application that boots your Wii up in a seperate mode every time you want to play them anyway. lmao
