    I need some help.
I cant seem to run it correctly.

I dont get the Splash Loading Screen I've been seeing in the demos on UTube, just this black screen with white writing scrolling down in, what looks like, the Linux kernel.

It comes up with #Successfully Loaded fs.sqfs

and then it just goes haywire. It loops this error that appears every 100th of a second, so i cannot read what it says, and i have to reboot my Wii.

I have got it to work a couple of times, but then it stops working as soon as a put a large movie file on the SD card. Now it doesnt seem to be working at all.

    Anyone encounter this problem?

    no worky

I got Geexbox working and it can detect the files on my external drive but if I try to open any movies or music it freezes or goes black or gives me an error message. I also tried Mplayer and it crashed also. I'm not sure what the problem is but would appreciate any pointers. -thanks

As there hasn't been a major release of it for the wii for awhile I think some of the bug checking is not quite up there yet.

I find that if you stick with your common xvid/DivX player resolutions and data rates you will find the most success. Specifically, if you aquire any aXXo or FxG files that are formatted to fit onto and to be played off a single CD, you should have no problem playing these. Being on the road for a while this was my savior and watched many movies and many TV shows that were downloaded and played from my portable 2.5" usb drive.

    Found a Solution:

Formatted my SD card with this baby:
SD Memory Card Formatting Software | SD/SDHC Memory Card | Digital AV | Consumer Products | Support | Panasonic Global

After that was done, i loaded the SD card with my Apps and Movies etc

    i Ran GeeXbox off Homebrew
    and it completely works!

    Had no problems so far.

hehehe, ah yes. That I forgot to mention. I guess I take that one for granted. Whenever I'm using my SD card in a different device I format it. Just force of habit. Good work!

Unhappy Works... Doesn't work.... Works.... Doesn't work.... Drivin' me nuts!!

I've been using Geexbox for a while now, for watching .avi movies mostly (as it is much quicker and more simple than recording loads of DVDs ) and it has worked flawlessly... Until a couple of days ago.

I've done nothing different, changed nothing, nor added anything. It just stopped working... No loading screen, no lines of scrolling code, nothing... Zip... Nada...

I use Homebrew to start it and the HB loader works OK (i.e. it gets to 100% no problem) and then everything goes black. I have Wii updates disabled.

    What I've tried so far:

Delete and Reload from HB - no change.
Reformat SD and reload from HB - no change.
Tried a different SD and reloaded from HB - WORKED ONCE then black-screened again.
Tried reformatting new SD card etc. - no change.

    What I'm trying next:

Do low-level reformat of SD card. Reload with just HB. Reload GeeXboX.

I run Windows 7 and am using that for Fat32 formatting. If the above doesn't work, I'll try SD Formatter and see if it makes any difference.

What I can't figure out is why it should work, then not work, then work, then not work???

I'll let you know how I get on.

    Confused of Essex.

Not sure about your Geexbox but you could try Mplayer CE, which is very good at playing avi, and even works over wifi from your PC shares in Windows 7.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.
