On another attempt, a guy in GBAtemp just posted this:
    Get NUS Downloader and FreeTheBugs...

    Download with NUSD

    IOS56 - Title ID: 0000000100000038 V: 5405
    IOS57 - Title ID: 0000000100000039 V: 5661
    IOS70 - Title ID: 0000000100000046 V: 6687

    SM4.2 - Title ID: 0000000100000002 V: 450 (PAL), 481 (USA)

    Patch them with FreeTheBugs

Install them to your Wii via WADManager...

    Enjoy SM4.2

    No Warranties! BootMii suggested!

So anyone cares to try it???

Apparently you will lose preloader, so only try those who have bootmii/boot 2. Technom8t, care to try it out??

Precisely.. yet for those who dont have bootmii/boot2 is not recommended, cos they will lose preloader, so just wait...

Some posts on gbatemp mention that IOS36 has been altered to prevent hackmii installer, same message as cIOSCORP fail.

Also that the bootmii update will remove bootmii/boot2 software but will not close the boot1 hardware vunerability that enables us to load it there in the first place. So boot2 users might be safe, after a fashion.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.

*L* I knew this kinda update was coming. Right after the Waninkoko announcement. Anyone who accidentally gets this update is screwed for a while. Nice little shot by Nintendo. I have no reason to leave 4.1 right now. This menu would have to be a drastic change. I wonder if this a response to all the bricked Wii' getting sent it?

Nintendo' most inspired core game titles are stuck overseas. Nintendo Of America sux when it comes to the localization of these game titles as they court with their new found casual gamer/soccer mom audience this console generation. Thus indirectly promoting the growth of Homebrewing & basically telling their core audience if they want it, mod chip or Homebrew it. Thanks Nintendo! My Wii and its functionalities have never felt more complete than when I took my first sip of the Brew. - Brewaholic

As someone already mentioned, this update was probably released due to the BannerBomb exploit and how easy it is to use and probably due to that stupid 7 minute hack your Wii video was probably also to blame.

EDIT: Youtube + 7 min Wii hacking video + BannerBomb + lots of hacked Wiis = 4.2 update

Solution, blame WiiFit. (joke made by another site I'm a member of)
