A fix would be ever so nice I can finish my games I had before updates and have my HBC back to enjoy those sweet games that the wii has in the HB scene!

I know you didn't call me stupid but other forum members did. I won't mention name because I rather have friends then enemies here. I didn't call you stupid either bro. I am just tired of being a called a newb when all I ask is for is a little help. Know what I'm saying?
The new system menu uses IOS70 now. That's why preloader has to be revised. If you are willing to try out other IOSes the ones to check to see if they escaped the update and remain functional are IOS 250, 222, and 223. Your IOS249 doesn't look like it escaped the update.

I'm sorry about the problems you experienced on this site. I read through the posts and saw that you did indeed receive almost simultaneous differing suggestions. The Nintendo update is buggy and inconsistent in applying its intended destruction. This results in some fixes working for some and not for others. I myself had you reinstall HBC not anticipating that the exploit/hackmii would not work again for you. I had two other members with Wiis that same reinstallation took care of the HBC flip and function.

I understand what you were talking about with regard to response to your questions. I recall quite vividly my confusion when preparing to softmod my Wii. I try to keep that in mind when responding to queries.

Keep watching the developments for fixes applicable to your Wii.

Thanks for understanding my situation and knowing that I wasn't trying to be a bother on the site,I just wanted a direct answer on how to get things working but I got ridiculed just for trying to find out something. Earlier I was a bit angry at the treatment but it's fine. I'll try the different IOSes too Maybe the 250 survived because the damn boot mii doesn't work so I'll try that.

As the upgrade effects were inconsistent, I think a direct answer is not always possible. We all wish that were not so. I would much prefer having been able to tell you the fix right off instead of trying a variety of options with out wiihacks members.

With regard to your question about an HBC.wad. Right now only an older version is available as a wad. You would need the new HBC version because the Title ID of HBC had to be changed. System menu 4.2 searches and deletes HBC based on the coded name ID.

You could also spare yourself the frustration and just wait a bit, each day more information about the upgrade effects comes out and also more fixes are tested and released. I'm sure that pretty soon a comprehensive and comprehensible tutorial will be available-you could just wait until then.

I'll wait as long as needed but I want to clear it up that I am using waninkoko's 4.2 not the official nintendo update. Maybe during the near future it can be possible to have a HBC wad of the newer version? I'll wait though. I am sure a fix will be here in a few but just to try it. let me try installing 250 and if that doesn't work. I'll wait for a fix. Thanks again.

Ok, thanks. I forgot-I think you had mentioned it in that list of activities.

You know, if all you want is a working HBC, I recall that technom8t changed the title ID of a version of HBC and made it available as a wad. The title ID was chosen by technom8t and is not the same as the one used by the current HBC. However, if you want to try it out, the link is on this page: How To : Restore HomeBrew Channel on a wii with system menu 4.2 - Page 9

That is all I want to have right now. I got the new boot mii on my 512 San disk card. I don't care for DVDx for obvious reasons so yes. All I want is a working HBC right now.

Thank you, Gen3sf for helping me find HBC and technom8t in finding out a work around with HBC!. the only thing that sucks is you can't update the HBC because you get the same error but the HBC is not upside down! at least I can use it. Hopefully a fix will come out someday soon that I can update it but until then this will work fine. Thank you! I'll be checking for a fix from time to time .

OK, not great, but good. So, I've been reviewing your steps and it's clear that while you got to 4.2 by waninkoko's updater, we all thought you were part of the masses that had gotten the Nintendo Update. Now, because you did not get the Nintendo update, all your IOSes and cIOS are expected to be intact. Given that, the failure of reinstalling IOS36 to clear the HBC error msg is odd.

Forget about those trials of the other IOSes for now. Maybe Waninkoko's updater will be found to have quirk, but for now, leave it.
