That pretty much sums what they did and now its time to wait for the noobs to start flooding in with their problems.

By the way, if someone makes a custom update for 4.2, like Waninkokos 4.0, will this eliminate the possibility of updating to 4.2 from Nintendo? Have removed the network-settings from the Wii now, denying it internet. :P

Just got this from the nTorrent site.

DO NOT UPDATE TO 4.2. IT WILL MOTHBALL IOS222, 223, 249 AND 250, AND UPDATE YOUR BOOT2 TO BOOT2V4, WHICH WILL KILL BOOTMII, AND WONT LET YOU DOWNGRADE, AND REMOVE THE HOMEBREW CHANNEL

this is a huge update as far as homebrew goes. stay well away.

bannerbomb is no huge loss, indiana pwns still works, and i assume smashstack (usa only though). just means unless you have a modchip you have to own the original game.

So the Indy game suddenly becomes very popular. The makers will think they made a good game.

The biggest concern for me is the new boot2v4 update. I really do not want to lose my boot2 safety net.

Now we wait for the flood of 4.2 updaters who complain their homebrew, preloader and boot2s no longer work.

I have a wiikey2 modchip. With the configuration disc i can block updates for other regions and my own (PAL). Currently its set to allow my own region updates and block others.

Does anyone know, for a fact, that the wiikey2 modchip is succesfully able to block the 4.2 update if i configure it to block all updates?

It might be a stupid question, but better safe than sorry.

Trail - You won't need to worry about 4.2 updates on disc for a little while, only a few days ago did a 4.1J update come on one game. When 4.2 does come on discs you Wiikey2 will more than likely be set up only to ignore foreign region updates. This setting is editable in the Wiikey2 configuration utility.

Thread - And on a brighter note, perhaps we'll see less hopeless noobs hacking their Wiis now as they will actually need access to a retail game.
