    So if I want to do a solderless modchip install and don't want to remove the epoxy on the Wii drive then, as of now, Drivekey is my only option???

    correct, there will be a couple other mods that come out but after drivekeys latest announcement of new features I think it ranks supreme yet again.

    * FPGA fully updatable via JTAG external programmer
    * JTAG software automatically downloads individually signed updates from
    DriveKey server
    * SPI fully updatable via DVD
    * Fully configurable update blocker
    * Fully configurable region override
    * Enable/Disable DriveKey via the config menu
    * Config option to autoboot Wii discs (insert the disc, the game will
    load immediately!)

    Best of all, there is no need to burn/run a DVD to access the config
    options -- you just press the eject button 3 times and presto! The config
    system loads directly from the SPI Flash!

    Drive key will get the most, Wasabi the least

    in the end, though... its all about which team gets the best things going

    wiinja i think is the only one at a disadvantage, since Flatmii, was more accesssable than these chips are... so since they have 2 very different devices currently it will hurt them
    Seems like Wasabi Dx is almost the same price as Drivekey, if not cheaper.

    Most sites like modchipcentral/ gmodz/ canadamods seem to be selling Drivekey for around $67.95/$70/$79.99.

    Wasabi Dx seems to be selling at a pre-order price of $69 with one site selling it for $55!

    hi
    i have a little question to ask

    1 - which is better? solder or solderless modchip?

    2 - with Canadamods.ca - Official Distributor of Wiikey, WiiKey 2, D2PRO 9, Wii-Clip, Wasabi V3, WiiZard, D2SUN, D2CKEY and more - DriveKey + Security Triwing Screwdriver + Special Bonus 16 Piece Tool Kit & Protective Sticker ! is it safe to update your wii with a copied game?

    3 - is there chances of your wii getting bricked after instalation or update?

    1. This depends on the version wii you have. If you have a D2E epoxy or D3 you have no other option than 4th generation mods (Wasabi DX, DriveKey or FlatMod). If you have an older wii than you can choose: solder, chipclip or 4th generation. I think the first two are better because you don't have the 3x read speed (instead of 6x) and GC games with streaming audio work (they don't (yet) with 4th generation)

    2. A backuped game is never a problem, you only have to know that you don't must update a different region game. This can (and will mostly) brick your system. 4th generation chips will block this update, older mods don't. But a downloaded game (illegal) can have hacked updates, so never update with such an update. Unless you know the cpied game is safe.

    3. see 2.

    I have a view questions on my own:

    Since the three 4th generation mods are out (and you have a D2E epoxy or D3) which mod is the best to use? They all do basically the same, but in what they do different? And which have better support in terms of new firmware coming out and extra options?

    What i like to do is use Flatmii to play backupgames (iso) through my pc and have also a mod to play backupgames from cd. So basically use two chips: Flatmii and (Flatmod or Wasabi DX or Drivekey). Which 4th generation mod is the best to use AND WHY? Is there an other better solution to play games from a list on your wii (if you have a D2e epoxy or D3 and the newest wii firmware 4)?

    I read there are problems with Flatmii to play games, is there anyone with experience with Flatmii? Does this chip play GC games with steaming audio?
