US, January 5, 2009 - We all know that the Wii can handle emulation. After all, the entire Virtual Console is built out of emulators for a variety of consoles, such as the NES and Genesis. But early computers are not well represented on the Virtual Console -- at least, not in America. (The Commodore 64 is on the VC in Europe and the MSX is available in Japan.) Yohanes Nugroho is looking to remedy that. On his website

The Apple IIe emulator is still early, but functional. Nugroho has a handful of screens on his site, including shots from Epyx's Winter Games in all of its monochrome glory. The emulator is available for download from the site. The Apple IIe, a regular feature in school libraries or computer labs in the mid-eighties, is a great machine with a lot of great games. It would make a fun addition to the Virtual Console line-up for both its legacy and entertainment value.
