I'm assuming if anyone wants to downgrade .. they need to have the Homebrew Channel loaded BEFORE they upgraded to the newest 3.3?

I didn't actually update to this one lol, my sister just re did the org. 3.3 xD. I'm pretty sure lol xD

yeah, or put the boot.dol on the root of your SD card and run the Twilight Hack. Oh, wait, the new update screws up the TH... Yeah you need the HBC to downgrade.

There is no point to downgrade though if you don't have Homebrew lol xD

This is a patchmii upgrade which installs IOS51 (the new Nintendo Wii IOS) and patches it to remove the fakesigning bug prevention (the hacks prevention Ninty put on us), so we can use the wii shop channel and all online functionalities like if we were on the latest version of 3.3.

This update does not patch any of the other ios so it is safe and it will update your wii shop channel too I think. So with this update you will keep your previous version (im on 3.2) but you are still able to access internet features on wii (like shop channel) without being on the latest version of 3.3.

So it's the latest firmware version but without the hacks prevention. I recommend downgrading from 3.3 (minor update) to 3.2 first and then installing this new update to IOS51. This way you get everything while still keeping homebrew, wads, and dvds on wii (and trucha signing if you're on 3.2)

I was on v3.3, updated to the crappy new 3.3 and then did the downgrader back to the old 3.3. No problems for me. I can access internet and the shop channel and install/uninstall wads.

That is a cool patch, but if you already updated, use the downgrader.
I with I used that instead of upgrading!

Why don't you downgrade from minor 3.3 to 3.2 and then update using the IOS51 and Wii Shop Chanel Patchmii Update to the new 3.3 features? Or you can update from minor 3.3 too!

There's no reason to be on 3.3 ever!

Also, use anyregion changer to downgrade from minor 3.3 to 3.2 (better than waninkoko's downgrader) [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register]
