New Wii Firmware Update 3.3 Rev2 - Oct 23rd 2008

What exactly is CIOS? Is it a .wad? What does it do? Can someone link me to download it?
Sorry for so many questions :P
I'm still on the old 3.3, haven't upgraded yet.

cIOS is custom firmware for Wii, it allows new stuff to be done on it (homebrew stuff). Check out wii.waninkoko.info for info and downloads.

thanks, but i still don't quite understand what the point of it is...
Also, what does the Channel Loader do on Waninkoko's page?

Waninkoko releases a lot of somewhat useful apps, but the problem is he doesn't release proper documentation along with it, so there's a high learning curve for novices trying to use his software.

So basically cIOS = modified wii menu software that enables different uses in homebrew.

Also, my guess is that the channel loader is actually the backup loader used to load games. You need cIOS to use it though.

maybe if it's installable in a format other than .wad, but before even figuring this out, beta10 will be out to fix this issue.

OK, so here's my experience with this new crappy update:

-WiiKey 2 Modded Wii
-Never had HBC or cIOS installed
-Successfully installed HBCbeta9 via newest version of the Twilight hack
-Many aps in HBC do not load including Gecko Region Free
-cIOS installer will load from HBC but it gets error 2011 when it tries to load the wad file
-Scrubbed/fake signed disks will not load (Tested SSBB DVD5 and WiiKey Config Disk)
-Regular backup disks load no problem (Tested Wario ShakeIt)

Thats it hope this helps. I can't wait till someone comes out with a fix for this cuz untill then no homebrew/trucha disks for me.
