Here is the news that everyone has been waiting for.

Nintendo's storage solution: Load items direct from the SD slot

Nintendo's Satoru Iwata and his company have come up with a solution to the biggest issue for Wii gamers: storage. Iwata announced during the Japan fall press conference that, in the spring of 2009, gamers can expect to have the ability to load and play software direct from your SD card in your SD slot, as well as download items directly to their SD slot. For those of you with more than 2gbs of downloaded goodies, we only have one suggestion: buy a bunch of 2gb SD cards.

So, I wonder if this means that the WAD installer will install the files from one directory on the SD card into another directory on the SD card.

Seems like they are going to need additional protection so people don't just copy the SD contents (i.e. downloaded games) and give it to their friends (i.e. for those incapable of loading WAD files).

This could mean that DLC for more game in the furture :O:O:O:O:O:O:O:O Mainly games like Guitar Hero and Rockband games. Still though :O:O:O:O:O:O:O Many suprised faces are coming from me. (DLC= Downloadable Content)

The only limitation I see is the 2GB SD card which means you will have to get several SD cards.

It means that everything you keep on that little Wii memory is going to be on SD cards instead. Opening the horizons for all the channels you want and DLC for games.
