Wii Firmware Update 3.3

So I have been following this thread pretty closely...

I want to make sure I am correct on my gatherings here.

I have recently modded my Wii and have not updated to 3.3.

I can still run the Twilight hack and get Homebrew going correct?

Then once I have Twilight going install all the apps I want and proceed with the update IF I CHOOSE TOO, and it should be OK.

Correct?

Yes you install HBC with the older 3.3 FM. But wait before you update to the latest release (rev 2) of 3.3 as there are still fixes being worked out.

So did the update affect anything?

I have a wii with modchip (not sure which kind) and just bought a burnt version of Call of Duty. My wii has version 3.4U, and the game is northamerican. When i put the disc in, it asks for update. Is this safe??? I'm not running HBC.

3.4 can update itself WHENEVER IT WANTS WITHOUT WARNING. So if (somehow) a new update comes out that blocks all burned games, it can update by itself and you might not be able to reverse it.

3.3 and above takes away the fake sign bug which means you can't edit the game AT ALL (brickblock, region change, scrubbed, ect.)

3.2 is the best for pretty much everything. You can fake sign games and have FULL homebrew capabilities.

I have a Korean 3.3 Wii with HBC installed through Twilight Hack. I'm not confident enough to downgrade my wii yet since the Korean versions aren't very solid for region change or downgrade yet. My question is, am I able to install WADs or Patchmii-core safely with this version?

first i like to say i am a total noob and really dont understand alot about all this so plz help. i have a chipped wii and i have updated my wii to 3.3e, have i made a mistake in doing this, as all the games i now burn wont load i get error message everytime, things were fine before. i have'nt installed homebrew channel i just copy iso to disc, is there anything i can do to make things right again. if i need to install hbc do i need the zelda game and twlilight hack..

It's probably because you have modified ISOs. Downgrade to 3.2 to regain the fake sign bug.
