Update 4.2 out!
Nintendo has released System Menu 4.2 in all regions.

DON'T UPDATE!! IF you are using Homebrew Softmods.....
You can UPDATE Only If YOU ARE ONLY USING A DRIVEKEY OF SOME SORT. This stops some soldered or clip modchips from working, such as the cheap wiikeys. (No reason to really)

This update replaces ALL SYSTEM TITLES, INCLUDING BOOT2.

Overwrites 222, 223, and 249!

Bannerbomb = Gone.

Remember where you saw this 1st!!!

dumb luck
wow talk about your dumb luck. i havent been on my wii in months once i bought the drive key and played some of the games i wanted to play that was it ps3 from then on... well i got a hair up my but to go thru and update from 3.4u to 4.1 and install usb loaders and homebrew and all around just bring everything back up to "the scene". so i do a system update and an hour later 4.2 is out which eliminates all of that lol what a damn coincidence

My big question is, if I update firmware through the usual process of an un-modded wii. Will the update most likely interfere with my DriveKey modchip installation?

No, modchips have nothing to do with firmware.
