North America

Wii Menu version 4.1 is now available for your Wii console. To update your Wii Menu to the latest version, please select the Update button at the bottom of the screen or select the System Update option in Wii System Settings.
This update provides behind-the-scenes fixes that will not affect features but will improve the overall system performance.
Because unauthorized modifications to save files may impair game play or the Wii console, updating to Wii Menu version 4.1 will also check for and automatically remove such save files.
**Please note:
If you've updated your Wii Menu after 7/15/09, you may not need to update again.
Thank you for updating your Wii console!

blocking 4.1 upgrade

Hi, sorry, but its rare i have net access these days and I can't find a straight answer! so - My situation: i have a twilight hacked wii, downgraded to ver 3.2e, homebrew 1.0.1, starfall installed. I play my back-ups thru Gamma Channel.
Everything working great.
So far starfall has done a great job blocking any disc or net updates, but with this new update, i've been to scared to connect to the net or buy any new games that may update, thus rendering my back-ups useless (and possibly my wii).
My questions: is there a new 'starfall' to block the update, that I can install via sd? and will this allow me to play online, new games and old back-ups?

Thanks heaps to anyone who can guide me in the right direction/tutorial section.

@anitag starfall is only good on firmware 3.2. if you update at all, youll lose starfall. Instead, youll need to download and install preloader which does the same thing. Im in the same boat as you are. I have my wii at 3.2U and dont want to upgrade. Every single burned game I have is a scrubbed version and if I upgrade, I wont be able to play any of those. It would be great if I could upgrade knowing everything that worked before on my system would still work perfectly, but I look at it this way. If its not broken dont fix it. I even have games that require updates but still work on the system.

thanks for quick reply! so I just find the latest version of preloader and load that on to replace starfall and all its blocking capabilities? Should I remove starfall first? Then i'm good to keep playing back-ups and new games thru gamma loader? Almost sounds too easy...
