Mine didn't update itself either, so I'm reading as much info as I can on here, BUT it seems I can't use the Wii Speak channel and this isn't my Wii. i'm currently trying to find any info about how I can JUST update the channel without having to go to 4.0. EEK! And to think just TODAY I did Wad manager, ugh!

Upgrade
I was running a softmodded Wii...3.3U, Homebrew and DVDx already installed. I took a chance and upgraded last night, i can still run Homebrew channel and I was able to still install new wads, along with putting the new wads on SD card. Oh yeah and I can still play Backups.

For those of you who upgraded to 4.0 with Modchip.
can you still play wads, i had a few games that my wife can't live without.
Tetris and TV Show King. Just wonder if i can still play them after 4.0.

can someone hit me please i don't really understand the bad points of this update in the long run of course knowing how things go who ever programmed the new update didn't look at it from a "hackers" point of view so there are probably lots (or at very least 1) hole in the programming that can be exploited. further with the addition of being able to load stuff off the sdcard now I am sure the chances of finding a better hack will be possible. plus as things go there are probably hackers out there with enough experience to take out the bad parts of this update while keeping all the good ones.

there is always a way might not give you everything but there is always a way. i also keep tabs on symbian hacking and there was a period where phones with the latest firmware was unhackable, after a number of months everything was good as a new exploit was found the same will be here just need patience, if you don't have any of that just wait for a bit i think i have a bottle of it sitting in my back cupboard i will put it on ebay.
