ok. Quick couple of questions on what will work and what won't, and how to fix.

I have a wii that is on 3.2u that was originally 3.4u that I downgraded. This wii is not hard modded, strictly softmod.

What all cIOSes, WADs (channels) and HB apps should I have installed if I wish to do the following:

Update to 4.0U.
Be able to install WADs, or at least run them from SD (yes, I'm using downloaded WADs, not bought ones, I like to try before I buy)
Run my backed up games (damn nephew likes to scratch wii discs)
Be able to play new games with no hassle.
Be able to use all functions of 4.0 such as Mii channel, Everybody Votes channel, Check Mii Out channel, Internet Channel, Shop Channel.

I do have Gamma Channel loaded already, as well as HBC. I can get apps and cIOSes, I'm good at finding that stuff, I just want to make sure I won't lose any functionality trying to get the SD channel.

I'm not expecting a fast answer, so whenever anyone feels like aiding me, that would be most appreciated.

Make sure you have cIOS249 and then do the nintendo update, once you've updated install the [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] and you'll be good to go

i just used mario kart to upgrade an old console this weekend. the wii was on 2.2U and after starting mario kart and letting the disk do the update the console was on 3.1U.

FYI, Animal Crossing City Folk further updated it to 3.3U...

yeah, i needed to reset my wii first cause my uncle has installed wrong cios's first, anyways 4.0 works with most things, and also note that you still can update your homebrew channel, they haven't blocked that, now it's only waiting for the next wii installing homebrew hack for newer wii's.

hey what up i had some questions to ask if u dont mind. well i was wondering because i have the openwii and chiip would i brick my wii if i update. also i ordered a 2 drivekeys from modchipcentral and i was wondering how long would it take for them to arrive?

I have a question that I hope someone could help me with or point me in the right direction.
I stupidly update to 4.0 however i did already have homebrew channel installed prior to the update so HBC still works fine.
I would like to be able to have 4.0 but install more wads. So having a quick read of some posts I'm I right in saying that I need to downgrade to 3.2 first, then install wanikos 4.0??? Would this alow me to install wads onto SD cards??
Also what iso files would I need???? I'm confused becuase there are so many
