Hmm, why do I get the feeling that this was directed towards me...

How funny that you would mention that DJ's are not considered musicians, when infact they ARE! For the most part, being a former DJ myself, I can say that majority of DJ's (Professional,.. and otherwise) are also PRODUCERS!

And it's obvious that you've NEVER DJ'd for a second in your life, otherwise you wouldn't make such a statement. Because IF you even attempted to correctly mix just TWO songs together, you would know how hard it is TO DJ. I did it for a few years, then I went into music production after taking courses in college.

Well good for you. But saying that DJ's are not musicians is strictly YOUR opinion, NOT FACTS!

Can you read notes and sheet music? Do you know about harmony and stuff? Just because something is selling does nto mean its music. Drugs sell but they are not good

Yes (even though it's been years and years and I am not proficient at it), I was in Choir for three years and band for two. Even though doing all this does NOT define what a "musician" is, but okay, I'll humor you on this one. As for the second section of your statement, I can agree with you for the most part, especially since I get mad at what is being played on the radio is considered "Music", even though 99% of it is crap. That's why I do not listen to local radio stations.

But I am curious, what genre(s) do you like? What do you consider "music"?

I like folk music much (balkan brass ost), and i can not hear any of the hits played all over in clubs and stuff. Very few classic rocks, (Pink floyd being my best), a lot of Greek music, you wouldnt know or like it even if i sampled you.... I play classical music on the guitar and piano... Jazz and blues............ Everything that does not ruin your ears whilr you hear it and has a point, even if you are not high

    disc + jockey = DJ.

DJs just play the music that is all ready there, music that has been created by musicans. DJs do not create anything, including music. When is the last time you ever heard of a band member being called a DJ?
