Performing the gig I did a few years back, as consistent as the feedback was, I can't agree with this statement enough. The vast majority of people preferred something with a simple beat, no real melody, and LOUD to lose themselves in.

Bright and ridiculous lights with large television walls are a plus, apparently.

I love soft quiet acoustic music with great melody but I also love loud, heavy, giant ridiculous lights and TV screens music

Rap and country are about the only genres of music I don't listen to. I will admit I watched Ciles vid with Shavo Odadjian though.

It's not necessarily the music that makes hip hop even though there are many talented DJs. It's a form of rebellious music like punk rock, which people also don't understand and musicians often get accused of not having talent. If it weren't for hip hop and punk a lot of non-standard and counter culture Americans wouldn't have a voice and lots of issues and feelings wouldn't be brought to the attention of mainstream America.

I think it has to do with the fact that alot of ppl don't have the capacity to build a melodic bank, beyond the scope of twinkle twinkle little star.

I love Snot. Too bad they only had one album not including Strait Up.

I didn't name the band. The lead singer Lynn Strait died in a tragic accident just as his career was taking off. Check out all the musicians in this video in his honor!
