Hi people! I'm a Wii newb here, and i see that there are many different kinds of mod chips. Can someone here please help me with some of my questions?
1. Whats the difference between the different chips?
2. After installing the chips, does it mean that straight away no need to do anything more i can play self burnt games?
3. Also, is there a difference between PAL and NSTC? if i have a NSTC wii does it mean i can't play PAL games? Thank you!
1.) There is no major difference between the modchips they all work the same way and do the same thing. It all depends on what type of wii drive you have, but go for the d2pro9 v2 or wasabi 2 unless you have the rare d2e drive fo which you will need either the d2pro9 v3 d2e compatiable or the wasabi 2.
2.) Once you have the chip installed and working all you have to do it bun the wii games and put it into the wii and play.
3.) newer modchip like d2pro9 or wasabi have region patching which means you can play any region wii game. But you have to make sure that brick block a game that is not the same region as the wii because it will cause a (semi)brick
oh.. with regards to the region thing, what must i do to brick block it? Also, what is a semi brick? is there any brick recovery from a semi brick?
yes you can fix a semi brick by updating the wii to the lastest update, you may have to wait if your was semi bricked with the lastest update. There is also a semi brick disk fix but i do not know if it works with 3.3 but it dose work with 3.2 or below. Before you burn a game i recommand you use wiu or wum to check the wii of the game, if its not the same region as the wii you will have the option to brick block the game which will remove the update partition from the disk so that you will be able to play on your wii.

dont bother with brick blocking as some games that are brick blocked dont work with 3.3 update and in the future it might be tougher to use that program....just use the unbrick disc which can be downloaded off our website or update from newer games of the same regoin and ur wii will be unbricked.
i dont think brick blocking will stop games from working even with 3.3, if it trucha signed then i know it wont work unless you use geckoOS. But never herd a brick block game that didnt work yet. I do understand some games are special like SSBB that requires a update because it adds dual layer support but that about it and people where able to play SSBB on all region when it was only available in north amerciaQuote:
