    Semi-Bricked help out a noob!

I just got my wii clip with wii key today and I installed it. I went ahead and put super mario galaxy (burned) in there, and it started updating - then it failed half way or so, so I tried it again. It asked if I accept for that "Important" message and I accepted and it failed again. Now I got a semi bricked Wii! What should I do? I only have one legit game- wii sports. I can borrow SSBB, if that helps.

What leads me to believe semi-brick? Double Channels + Opera Error page.

Also, I am a complete noob in the wii scene. How do you update the firmware for wii key? Are you suppose to dl it from the web, burn, execute?

I downloaded the 1.9s update for wii key and burned it. Is it suppose to say Unable to read disc when it is semi-bricked?

Ok, I am half-way there. I downloaded and burned the Wii firmware provided in the post above and updated the Wii. The Wii was able to go to settings but still had the double channels. I thought it wasn't updated enough, so I updated to a newer version (with parental controls) on WiFi. After that, I installed WiiKey's 1.9s. I still see double channels. Super Mario Galaxy popped up an error saying "Unable to read disc" during the same part in a mandatory cinematic. When I tried mario strikers, I just got an "Unable to read disc" error. Super Paper Mario is doing good so far.

So, is it the disc problem or Wii?
Why do I still have double channels?

    1. it sounds like it is a media issue try verbatim -r
    2. go here and download the duplicate channel remover , burn it to a disc ,and pop it into your wii and let it do its thing .
    Homebrew apps - WiiBrew

I'd use the wii duplicate channel remover to remove your duplicate channels. As for the games not booting or giving you a DRE, have you tried using different media?

Awesome! It worked! Thanks for the help everyone!

Also, I downloaded a Super Mario Galaxy USA and Wii Mario Kart USA and burned it on a Memorex DVD+R. When I popped it in the Wii, they both were unable to be read by the Wii. What's up with that?

They are up to date. For sure. Why do I have to use that brand? Do you think it's because I burned at AUTO speed with img burn?
