Where can you buy inexpensive soldering irons, low wattage small tip?
Are there any general stores that would sell these items, not really wanting to have to order online? I am in United States, Nebraska to be exact.
I am not looking to pay a fortune and would be happy with a just buying soldering iron tips. I bought mine from radio shack, dual heat 15 to 30 watt, however has a normal tip on it. I can't find any replacment tips from radio shack that are small enough to solder a 30 awg wire to the ic legs.
I buy 12 watts pencil tip iron cost 12 dollars at Fry's and shape it down to microtip. If you don't want to hand made then you can buy one at fry's electronic which cost 35 dollars. It is microtip 12 watts iron solder, a tip is very small.

I think solder iron can be find many places not just radio shack, in California I can buy the low watts at home depo, orchard supply, walmart etc... The microtip solder iron is more expensive than the regular one (pen size tip). The pen tip one can be vary from $12 - $30 depends on brand name. I make mysef from a fat tip to nearly microtip iron buy using this one (see pic link files on Flickr - Photo Sharing!)..
Because you likely use once or two you buy an expensive one. If you buy every thing like triwing + solder iron + flux (option) and hand made tool would cost as much as you send to pro to do for you (if you can trust them). For me, I have the old (not decide to buy one) and made me one with the very small iron tip, I buy chip from local and try to install it (I have experience of soldering). So, if you want to buy one, try at local hardware store and you will find one. Any store carry home building tool will sell it.
