Wii-Clip can damage you chip BE CAFEFUL

I'm selling my mod already. It was flaky. Finally I tried to take it off and put it back on and when I looked at the chip on the board....the wii-clip actually bent down one of the pins it connects too....so it was causing the modchip and cd-rom chip to not have a good connection. Guess I didn't do it perfect like I thought I did the first time or applied to much pressure. The wii-clip still looks perfect though which is good.

Luckily it seems to work just fine without the modchip.

I think that I'm just going to buy a pre-soldered drive and shove it in and sell the old.

Ticks me off cause the programmer came in the mail today. $110 down the drain....till i sell it.

I've been following some of your posts wasted. Did you decide to take the mod off because it wasn't reading discs right or what?

Correct. Even legit games wouldn't run half of the time. Took it off to try to put it back on to get a better connection and saw the damage.

Wonderful. I have my mod chip on order....D2Pro9 with a v4Wii Clip pre soldered together. Any advice on what the correct installation might be so that I don't damage my chip?

Many people have used it with great success. Do not worry my friend, just dont use excessive force as they are delicate micro chips. They have youtube videos of how to install wii-clip.

granted, you have to use SOME force to get the wii-clip to seat properly, but you're still dealing with delicate electronics. Just line that baby up properly and make sure it's seated and you'll be fine. It's the removing and reseating that will really mess things up. wii-clip has been in business for quite a while, I doubt they'd still be around if they're product was garbage.
