Getting a wii soon looking for tips and suggestions
I am really thinking about a modchip when i get my wii. I am not a good solderer and I am thinking about sending a wii to a pro. So first, does any body have a good suggestion of a website with posotive feedback to put modchips in? I also want to be confident if something wrong happens later that i can send it back and it can be fixed. I live in PA so i preffer US but i am willing to pay extra shipping for other countries for good service.
hate to say it but I wouldent know... My wii is still unmodded.
Im waiting a little while before I do it to see if they get detected when more online games come out.
Plus in time there could be a solderless solution of some sort.
If no one here is able to suggest a good place, and you dont want to do it yourself.... I suggest holding off as well.
there are a couple things you can look into with an unmodded wii
sd media launcher, and datel homebrew. Look them up on google, maybe that will tie you over till there is a more simple solution
if the mods do get detected sometime can you disable it to play the games you cant?
yeah possibly but I dont want to take the chance.
So far they havent detected it...
Though if you try to play a PAL game on an NTSC system (or vise versa) it has been known to BRICK the system!!!
There is a fix though that you can run the iso through before to burn the disk to avoid this.
Im not really big into actually modding the system.
Back in the days of SNES, i had a game copying device that sat on top of my system. no solder, very easy.
playstation I bought pre-modded, so I didn't have to do it.
Playstation 2 I run with a usb hard drive, and a boot disk.
Im really not a fan of soldering chips, even though I consider myself pretty good at such things.
Hopefuly someone else can suggest something, cause I wouldent know where to get it installed. have you checked you local papers? I know my local Buy&Sell have installers that advertise in them, and they will garantee it to work.
I have looked in my phone book but i dont know what to look under for modding systems. I looked at my video game section and thought about calling local game stores (of course not eb games, gamespot, gamecrazy, ect) and asking if they mod systems.. good idea?
not your phone book...
You local buy and sell, craigslist, that sort of thing
I'm having mine done by Ned Cifric in Salem, MA. Give him a call at 978-269-4624. Mine should be back this week so I will be able to update everyone on his performance and verify myself that he is acceptable.
