XBMC is superb.... Cant say enough good things about it... I have it hooked up to my projector and watch all my movies on it, watch the impressive visualizations with music, etc... kicks ass
heres a cool thing i discovered with mine about a year ago...
I originally bought the xbox remote with receiver... and quickly lost the remote but kept the receiver as it was plugged in my xbox and its a lot harder to lose =)
XBMC has programming that automatically detects and decodes my universal remote that I use for my 1989 RCA tv... was pretty confusing for the first couple minutes but once i realized what it was doing i was impressed!

I love my XBMC... Now is there any chance that Wii homebrew will step it up and compete? Seems to me it has some defenite advantages, like a wireless remote that turns the system on and off and the ability to have wifi connections. But maybe the wifi is too slow?

Well I haven't touched my xbox for quite some time so why not mod the crap out of it.
-I think I'll do a softmod.
-replace the HD with a 500gb (although separate partitions due to the capacity limit.)
-add some USB ports(simply wired to the controller ports...easy way)
-going to need a wirless adapter
-Install xUbuntu w/ mouse and keyboard in the USB ports
-Emulators: NES, SNES, N64, PS1, ScumVM(if they have it)
-XBMC(XBox Media Center)
Questions:
Can I sent xbox backups to the Internal HD wothout burning the ISO to a DVD?
Is XBMC the best choice or is there better software for my XBox?

If anyone needs help with this, please ask. I reckon I'd be able to assist :P
I was a team member of SlaYers, Mod on SlaYers forum for years and wrote SlaYers 2.7 Xbox autoinstaller
Cheers

You can do this via FTP'ing the folders to the HDD of your xbox1, NO iso required.
You can also use a program installed on your xbox1, called DVD2xbox to backup from disk to the HDD(on your xbox).
XBMC is my preferred dashboard as is FAR superior to any other dash, some ppl get scared off thinking its too in depth, but there are great support sites for XBMC that will help yo out of any issue.
XBMC Online manual is a great one, just search for that in google.
Cheers
Mick

I have a softmodded Xbox just so that I could stream video from pc to xbox connected to tv, but the problem I have is that the video freezes for a second or two every few minutes, stutterring is, Is uppose, the best way to describe it. I haven't been able to find any help in the other xbox forums so I gave up on it.

Once you have it installed, you can copy games strait from disc to the hard disc in XBMC.
I actually preferred to have evolution x as my main dashboard. That way I could separate my games, emulators and apps. I had quick access to XBMC though. Today though, since I'd probabally only be using media player, I'd just go to it.

I agree XMBC is the best. It plays most video formats among other things. Plus I love the visualizations!! lol If you have an xbox modded and dont have this then you have to get it. Best software and dashboard out there!
