    Question IP P'ing me off

I'm trying to get my 360 to connect to the internet before I get live so I'll know it'll connect and I won't have to do it later, but the IP adress keeps saying its incorrect but I've been to websites telling me what it is, they are all the same(IPs), but it still says its incorrect what should I do???

Unplug the router and ethernet plug (wifi adaptor?) from the 360, turn off the 360, wait 5 mins, and plug things back in. That's how I got mine to work. Also, are you using the automatic settings? Try that.

    Here's to hoping it works...

Yeah but my 360 is set up differently because I don't have internet but I'm using a wireless card that picks up wireless signals and I have that in and the 360 is connected to my laptop by an ethernet cable. Does that make a difference?

If you're trying to connect to a WiFi spot and can't get down the IP address, it could be because you don't have a strong enough signal.
that's the error message I recieve with my psp while trying to.....share....with neighbors. But now I have my own router so I'm good.

It broadcasts the internet in an area to whatever wants to connect. Routers NORMALLY aren't strong enough to broadcast any farther than....let's say, 60 feet.

What it looks like is that you're just on the edge of the area, so SOMETHING is getting picked up, but not the IP address. I'd suggest using a splitter and a cable running to your 360 ^_^

Wait, you're using your laptop as a wireless card? D'oh, thats why. Plug a ethernet cable into the back or buy a 100$ WiFi dongle.
