well let me just say this i remember when cable internet first came out in my region, and me and a friend both had it we both had Icq beta, and we did a 4gig transfer in like 25 minutes he lived about 7 miles away from me and if i had to bet money on it,back then in 99 it was probably one of the biggest transfers in my state besides server side stuff,

Free with P2P's is not always better. Have you guys tried newsgroups? For $11 a month, or $25 for 125 GB, you could be flying full speed. Yeah, I know, free is hard to pass up with Torrents, I guess speed does have a price. I also remember the ICQ days with playstation games, and chasing yahoo accounts where stuff was posted, of course back then it was megabytes, not gigabytes , and even just a few months ago when my ISP news server was free. Out of all things, child porn shuts down the ISP news servers. Oh well, it was a good run for many years for free. Once your into newsgroups, you can't go back even if you have to pay for it, it's a candy store at full speed.

Newsgroups are the way to roll. Try a search on Newzbin and see what pops up under wii and gamecube let alone apps and movies and books...and man they d/l quick. Most come with pars and rars and are usually well noted in the comments if they don't unpack, or work.

hhmmm... I guess that is what my buddy has been using... I've seen him use that UseNext program... which I thought was a scam... but now that I think about it the interface does look like newsgroups!!!... wow...

I'll try and find a trial out there to see how well it works.

    cheers

I have been using it for years and have never been let down. I use Newzbin for hunting, newsbin for downloading and I pay to use unlimitednewshosting for the ability to get them. I see a lot of people use giganews. If I remember right most ISP's let you d/l like a gig a month which is worthless but might be good for you to see whats out there. With my set up I think it is like 1 to 2 hours for a dvd ( I might be wrong on that one, but it is nowhere near the overnight torrent thing I tried) I can d/l a cd in less than 30 and that would be a full cds worth like a DIVX movie or something along those lines. In other words it is fast. Now th only problem I have is Comcast cuts you off at 250 gig a month which is ok if your grabbing dvd size chunks but that would really hinder you if you wanted to backup your blu rays.

Astraweb is the best deal going. They are upping to from 160 to 260 days retention soon. $11 a month and your flying. For light users, $25 for 125 GB might be a better choice.
