Question What would it take for you to update?

We are always telling newbies not to update to 4.2+ because it doesn't offer any benefits, and that it was designed simply to kill homebrew. I was wondering what people would do if Nintendo had something beneficial in their past two (three if you count 4.3b) updates.

Say they added three improvements, and it still removed homebrew like it does now. What would those have to be in order to make you want to update? Or is there nothing that could make you update?

Please keep this reasonable. Don't say things like "it would have to provide an infinite amount of Mountain Dew" (which would be awesome) or "it would add 1080p and blueray support" (slightly less awesome). The hardware is not changing, just the System Menu.

The only way I would update is if it was required to play new games. My Wii has 3.2 and currently plays all backup games, no reason to update yet. My Wii also sports HBC 1.0.1 and runs all homebrew.

Interesting question, I would probably do it for linux. Everything else I want to do with the wii can already be done by modding it...so pretty much set on that end. They won't ever add anything useful, even when they did add things they were never really impressive anyway.

Why are you running 1.0.1? Just so you know that 'Project Trust Dev" thing that was talked about a while back was fake. So no reason not to update your HBC.
    Damn I suck!!!!

I have a red wii that is kept updated, I just want to try to keep my hacking wii as it was when it was hacked, except for updating the cIOS for obvious reasons. I found that wad manager 1.3 quit working with cIOS rev20. I haven't found a reason to update the HBC yet, because I can get all HBC apps to work with 1.0.1, even if I do have to make a forwarder that gives the AHBPROT support that an app may require. I will only update as required when things quit working.
