    Desktop PC under $150???

I'm looking for advice on buying a desktop pc. I have a laptop but want a cheaper desktop for my house. It will be used mostly to play games and keep finances. I'm not talking crazy games like WOW that need a good pc, I'm talking like bored.com games that shouldn't need a crazy fast pc. I am not willing to spend over $150 and would like to keep it under $100 if possible. I am looking for a refurb (you can't really get one in my price range that is decent and new) but not used (can never trust what is on a pc). I already have a monitor and windows 7 + Microsoft Office, so I don't need to find one that has those items.

I have searched ebay and there is just too much to sift through. I don't fully understand everything about PC's so I was hoping someone here knew what they were doing.

I have found a couple that look decent. What do you think of these, and do you recommend something different all together? Thanks!

I like dells, But the lenovo is decent too. Only problem is you need 1 gig ram for windows 7 (32 bit) or 2 gig ram for windows 7 (64 bit). Ethier way it would probably run sloppy. I say keep xp on it.

First thing first, DO NOT install windows 7 on one of the three you linked. Why? Windows XP is far superior and your computer will throw up on itself hardware wise if it has 7 on it.
eCOST.com - HP D510 Intel Pentium 2.0GHz Desktop PC - D510 IMO sucks, and if i think this is what i think it is "onboard graphics card" that's a laptop part in a desktop.
eCOST.com - Dell Optiplex GX520 2.8 Intel Pentium 4 Desktop PC - GX520-P42.8-80 From what the site tells me, its not all that bad about as same as the one below.
eCOST.com - Lenovo ThinkCentre A50 2.8GHz Intel Pentium 4 Desktop - 8085D5U This is a fairly decent one, my school uses it and it doesn't perform all that bad with lets say my average 8 tabs open and 3 of them have games on it. I've had a lot more open to, i forgot to close them and it runs nicely. You mentioned WoW, if you really want to play it this one and the one above it might meet the required specs, but you will have to run them as lowest possible. If you install Windows 7, it will spit on WoW with thoose specs.

I'm fine with keeping windows XP, and I will NOT be playing WOW, just smaller games. Any models not listed here? I just found one decent site but I may be missing out on a ton of other options. I just wanted to get the ball rolling.

Then i was right, if his mobo gets fried, it will be cheaper to buy a new computer. They also have a few problems with heat (i do believe), and it runs like poop.

Dell OptiPlex GX520 Desktop PC - Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz, 1GB DDR2, 80GB HDD, DVDROM, Windows XP Professional (Off-Lease) at TigerDirect.com looks like same dell but is in stock it has ddr 2 ram which is good because it is cheaper and sata drive also cheaper you could upgrade to 2 gigs of ram and a 500 gb hard drive for maybe 100 bucks then windows 7 could be possible.

@Linkzor- If your mobo gets fried half the time it is cheaper to get a new computer lol. I havn't heard of any differences with heat as long as you have ventilation. Alot of talk coming from some one running on dial up. *just busting your balls*

I still say go with the windows XP, if you put a small puppy down and had it choose between the two, it would run the XP faster than you can say "ASDFREQAWDSGTEWASDFJASDFDJSFD" If you say XP is too outdated, then dualboot linux and XP, you will get the best of XP and Linux (which i heard 7 copied stuff from it). Plus linux is free to install, and its virus free without burning bibles next to it like mac's.

@piggy I bet my computer on dial-up works harder than your 10mbps stuff i got a WC3 bot on (its a shaman incase you know what that is), d2 on, and starcraft on all at the same time. plus about 5 tabs and just for the fun of it i'm also playing a level of Half-Life 2.

Don't tell him that he said he is not good with computers. Stick with xp it will do what you want for your budget, if you really want a long lasting computer buy new. Even if its a cheaper one.

@UMDRunner- Heat shouldn't be a problem as long as you keep it in a ventilated area. Also open it up from time to time and get the dust bunnies out, its amazing how much they can efffect your pc.
