I do that sometimes, but mine isn't really expensive,
my sister's old phone as mine gave up (lasted like a minute ON the charger, then restarted)
A new one would be nice

Back when pagers were in I used to break those on pretty much a weekly basis. Skateboarding and pagers don't mix. I broke them plenty of other ways too.

The most expensive thing I have dropped and though was a huge mistake was the shot that produced my son! I found out how wrong I was about the mistake part, but wow....the expense!

You figure I would have learned the first time I landed on my hip and the screen shattered but sometimes I don't learn my lesson. I tried moving it around, putting it in my pocket, keeping it in my backpack. All bad ideas. My habit for breaking pagers is what caused me to get the protection/replacement plan on every pager/cell phone plan I've had. I make good use of it. Although I have had a cell company downgrade my phone before. Damn AT&T! I was heated but that was when cell's were first becoming big and it was like my 3rd replacement. I also had cells replaced with a different model of equal value, not by choice.

My wife had dropped our Cannon camera in the toilet at a football game. Yes she pulled it out; there was clean water in it. But wristband never went into the water so she didn’t have to touch it. Luckily we had replacement warranty from Circuit City and they replaced it with refurbed one. Circuit City went out business 2 days after I received the refurbed in the mail.
