    Lightbulb Feedback on my guide

A few weeks ago I started working on a guide to update all non-SM IOS's to the latest versions, so you could ensure that you wouldn't need to update any IOS for a long time. I gave it a catchy name (Update All Your IOS's ), and I have added more and more to it over the past two weeks. I asked for feedback on it, but I haven't gotten much.

It has remained in the Submit Articles/Tutorials section because it hasn't gotten much attention (I'm not arguing that it should be moved), so even if people respond it takes a day or two before a mod will "approve" a response, making it visible.

I was hoping that people could take a look at it (you don't have to use it) and post any suggestions you may have in this thread. I'm always seeking to improve it. If I make a change based on your suggestion, I will add your name to the "Thanks to" section.

Oh, and I almost forgot the most important announcement:

Edit: Could someone merge this with my guide? Now that I don't have to wait 2 days for responses, and have gotten some helpful feedback/offers, I don't really need a separate thread.

LOL...Don't beg...It's in bad taste. Kind of like when people remind others to hit the thanks button. You should be happy in the fact you helped others and already have a warm fuzzy feeling inside. I've been asking for suggestions on my MAME list since I started it a couple of months back but have yet to receive much feedback other than by people who can't get certain games working. Oh well...I think the average member would rather just read a guide, follow it, and not post unless they have problems rather than give creative criticism or helpful suggestions. I've looked at your guide but seeing as how it is of no real use to me I didn't really have anything to add. It was more of a quick glance. I'm sure it was probably the same for a lot of us that don't need a guide to update our IOS. I'm notorious for not following or reading the guides on here though.

    I really don't think I am begging.

Working with IOS's can go wrong pretty fast if you don't follow instructions. Since I wrote this guide mainly for newbies, I wanted to make sure that everything is crystal-clear. I'm not asking for feedback to increase the popularity of my guide; I'm doing it because the last thing I want is to cause a brick because someone got confused.

I wrote that guide knowing a lot of people wouldn't need it, especially those who are regular members. The main reason was for people who didn't want to worry about checking if a new IOS was needed for a game or channel, or if they were giving a softmodded Wii as a present to someone who wouldn't know how to update an IOS.

I'm just ribbing you a bit. But I honestly do think the people that will more intensely read and follow the guide are less likely to provide feedback unless they have a problem. I'll go back and actually read it and provide anything if I can. It's awesome when people do...Like when Krank offered his suggestions on the SD/SDHC list I started.

Thanks. Maybe I am just paranoid. I keep thinking, "What if someone semi-bricks because of me?"

You're thorough as all hell so it's kind of hard to improve upon. I actually can be useful to you. If you are looking for "Instructions for formatting SD card on a Mac (ugh)." I can't help you with Mac because I haven't really touched one in forever but I can give you instructions for Linux if you would like. Your thanks to is classic.

Thank you. I actually re-wrote the guide 4 times before posting it, and it was all through notepad.
I have hardly used Linux except off of live DVD's, so my experience is limited. I would be very grateful if you could provide instructions for Linux!

Edit: Looks like I'm a member now.

Cool. I'll hit you with a PM in a little while. I have to go offline for a bit and do some stuff around the house before my wife castrates me.
