A Lesson In Fail (not searching/following guides, multiple BO threads, general fail)

Ok I would just like to say that I made a post that really had nothing to do with getting black ops to work if I want to play it I just have to stick the disc in to play. If my post had been read properly it would have been realized that it was a controller based question asking if the updated iOS 249 that I had installed FOR black ops had anything to do with the OTHER games that were malfunctioning. I would just like to add that people come to this site to bask in the experience of other gamers and learn the tools of the trade. Simply by reading i have learned a lot about the magical world of my nintendo wii. I just want everyone to stop being wise about the questions that are asked. Not everyone was born a hacker/programmer.

I would have to agree. I spent my two weeks in the reading room for an accidental multiple post. I know that the administrators of this site are busy people but if they are frustrated why don't they make an area just for n00bs to ask "dumb" questions and other members who have experience can assist them freely. Then they wouldn't have to feel bad when someone treats them like a moron just because they haven't played games as much. Most questions asked could be answered with a simple link to faqs, or download.

I think we already have one. Newbie Discussion Forum.

You guys should probably toughen up a little and not let internet stuff bother you. No good is going to come from criticizing the mods or admins of this site. I honestly think they do a great job on here in comparison to a lot of other sites. Why don't you try PMing the mod that locked your thread DSILOCO? Maybe they simply overlooked something and are willing to re-open it with proper understanding of your problem. Rather than criticize them in a new thread that is...

I wasn't criticizing anyone just offering constructive feedback which is how we all improve, no insult to anyone i swear. My point was is that If someone makes a thread about something that is already on a guide there thread should at least be open long enough for them to get the answer. As for the n00b discussion forum most people probably go there first and don't get there question answered. I have nothing but respect for the bunch of administrators this site has and sincerely appreciate all of their helpful guides. Ps is there a way to delete your own thread?

Understandable and I don't want you to think I'm getting on you for your opinion. It's just whenever I see a post like this on a forum I never really see a point. The mods on here are reasonable and if the thread was closed due to an over site I have seen them re-open the thread after a chat in PM. You're never going to end smart-ass/wise responses on any forum. It's just some peoples nature. Sometime they are truly merited too. I'm not saying in your case because I didn't even notice your original thread but some people need to be treated like a dumb-ass before whatever they are being told sinks in or what they did or are posting/saying actually is dumb.

    Accidental multi-post, seriously?

You nailed it (against yourself). If you read the guide, you're questions would have been answered. If the Mods let multiple threads exist, that contained the same questions/answers, this site would be a mess. Why have 11 threads asking the same question? I got nailed for not searching before asking when I first signed up. I didn't whine, I learned a lesson. Spend some time on research, and THEN if you can't figure it out, post in the appropriate section. You will get help. These members are really good at what they do.

    My two cents...

Yes, I closed OP's thread. Essentially he 1. Failed to search and thrashed around in the dark; 2. Apparently he eventually got it working; 3. He had a controller disconnection issue (undoubtedly, related to likely wrong pair of IOS). 4. Narse gave him the correct solution, to which he seemingly acknowledged.

And here we are yet again... another thread that still exists due to... Black Ops and failure to search or perform the guide properly. I did tell you we won't allow for multi-threads on this subject --- I don't care if you say it's BO or not, it's still inspired from a failure to search/follow guides which led you to your predicament. Am I seriously missing anything? I don't think so...
