Call the # in the book for starters. Hell, I thought Wal-Mart takes back ANYTHING, lol. You have your receipt, aside from the warranty stuff?
Last year on black friday, i bought a ps3 along with a extended warranty. Now ive came into a problem with my controller. Since there is a 90% chance that if i send my ps3 controller to sony they won't replace it as it may have taken a swim with the fish. So i decided to take it back to walmart, the booklet you get when you buy the warranty and the controller. They told us that we had to activate the warranty within 90 or so days. BUT the lady said since nobody told us that we had to, they would take the ps3 back and give me a new one and activate the warranty. I took it back today, and they told me that i could not return it, they said that the lady that said i could was crazy, and i have to contact sony about the warranty although its not a manufacturers warranty that you buy. So, im either going to call the number on the warranty book or call sony, and i hope that they will fix this, since i was never told to activate the warranty. So for a warning for all of you if you didn't activate your warranty, your not covered by it, i know this for walmart is true, but im not sure about the other companies.
I called the number, and they told me that everything that lady said was wrong. The warranty is good, and they are sending my sticker to put on a box and send the controller back in. How obvious will it be to them that it was submerged in water? or can i get away with "humidity"? They said once i ship it to them, if they can't fix it they will replace it. So by the looks of it, walmart was wrong and they will fix or replace it and your warranty is good when you buy it from the store, you dont have to activate it (from what i understand, it probably wont hurt to go to that site and register it).
