    Anyone still on 3.2?

Just wandering, 4.0 + is out and homebrew, etc, seems to work fine for those on it.
    I'm still sticking with 3.2
Is there anyone who's still retro out there?

My Wii is still 3.2, never saw a reason to update, and all the games work fine. Installed IOS 38, 53, 55 over a year ago and that was it, never had to update a official Nintendo IOS, all IOS's are now as they were over a year ago. Just the cIOS get updated.

    I read this at WiiBrew
As a rule, an existing IOS will never have new features added to it, to protect binary compatibility. This means that any updates for existing IOSes are only meant to fix bugs -- generally, security bugs.
So, I never update my IOSs.

I have and am staying with 3.2. I use an external USB hard drive and have no need for the SDHC card support, extra channel pages, or increased system memory efficiency. I add an IOS only when a specific game requires it and the last time that occurred was for the musical instrument games last year. I have a lot of games and they all work just fine.

I have 4.1, but I never ever use it. Only priiloader to homebrew channel. If we could config network and such from HBC, there would be no need for any system menu.

I've been on 3.2 for awhile now. I don't see a reason to update to 4.0+. The only reason people do that is so that they can use SDHC cards with a few bonus here and there. I don't use my wii that much anymore plus having a modchip in there makes me have no need to update. Only using the softmod to the install ios.

I was on 3.2 when i got my wii, but did the 4.0 then 4.1 network updates before i hacked the wii (didnt know any better back then!). So im now at 4.1, which works fine for me although if i was still on 3.2 i would be tempted to stay there, but i do use the SDHC support from 4.1 so i can put my digital camera SD card into the Wii and view the photos!

I thought I would try to put my SD card from my camera in my Wii, but I for got it used an xD card, lol, it didn't work. I lost that camera and now I have a Sony camera, there's no way that memory stick will work in my Wii. I wonder if a card reader plugged into the usb slot will work?

Give it a try, Stomp, and let us know how it went. I don't recall seeing a success with a multiformat card reader in the Wii and it may have something to do with the card reader showing as multiple drives confusing the Wii. The more limited or dedicated USB card readers have a few successes-more often a limited SD or SDHC USB card cardreader-maybe due to fewer drives showing up.
