Kramer Loses It.

Have you heard of what happened to Michael Richards during a comedy show? Apparently some men(who were black) were talking all during his show and he just lost it and started throwing out racial slurs. There's a video of it on You Tube if you want to see it, but if you don't want the chance of ruining your future Seinfeld experiences, I suggest you don't watch it. What are your thoughts on this?

Kind of old news now, but I was amazed. I grew up in New Orleans so there were certainly people around me that used the N-Word, but I was really surprised to see Michael Richards using it. It's not that I think he's a great guy or anything, cause frankly I know nothing about him. I'm just surprised that anyone would use the N-Word in a public setting like that. The very first time I watched it, I was almost thinking he was trying to make a joke out of it by putting the talking people on the defensive, but after watching the whole thing, it seemed to come from a place of hate.

People tend to say what they think. It's like Mel Gibson. No matter how drunk I got, it would never occur to me to blame Jews for all the worlds wars. But it was obviosly on his mind, as was the N-word on Richard's mind.

There is no excuse to blow up like that. I think in his mind he thought he was being an extreme comic and somehow was trying to make a social commentary out of it. Sometimes if you mess up that bad....just admit defeat and get the hell out of there.

I saw the video too, it was disturbing. Did any of you see the apology he gave on David Letterman with Jerry Seinfeld? It was awkard. I think he has an anger control issues...(ya think?).

Hmm, didn't see that. It could happen to anyone though. He's performing, he could be on edge and then those guys push him over and they happened to be of colour. I don't excuse him for what he did, but he shouldn't be totally to blame. Also, the black men who he was yelling at were throwing racial slurs back at him for being white. A racial slur is a racial slur so I don't think Michael Richards should be persecuted too heavily.

I saw it. It was definately uncomfortable. I think he honestly didn't know what to say and didn't know how to react. Plus I doubt alot of the audience really knew what was going on and thought it was an act or supposed to be.
