    Hi

is there anyway I can convert my softmodded wii into a wireless internet browser using firebox or opera or IE or whatever, so i can stream movies or music to the tv via the wii??

if this does work, does this wii net browser thing works the same way as normal firefox on your laptop (that kind of idea)...??

    many thanks!!!

PS: plz experts post links to what needs to be downloaded and installed to get this working many thanks!

This wad gets rid of the update question. It will have the latest internet channel, and as its free from now on you will be OK in future.

    hi

so from what i can gather from your response:

    1. this "internet channel" IS the "firefox/opera/chrome/IE" kind of net browser for wii?

2 if so, does it have a "Cache"?? do i need to regularly delete the "cookies and histories" ? and if so, how do i do that?

    3. also, if so, how to get some sort of wii "firewall" thingy into my wii in case of virus from the net?!

    4. do i still need that "orb streaming thing" installed?

please do answer my questions, i appreciate your help indeed

Question Is it SAFE to browse the net using Wii Opera?

    hi folks

for those who regularly use Wii Opera to browse the net for sites like youtube or flickr etc... is it actually SAFE to use the wii to do net surfing???

will you get virus and all that?

my wifi router is totally not encrupted... i just use the windows inbuilt firewall for my laptop to protect my laptop thats all... i am wondering if theres such protection for the wii during web surfing

please experts contribute your two cents on this much appreciated

i imagine it is possible for someone who was an extreme hacker to develop something that would have an adverse effect on someone's wii, like a browser kind of hijack. i just haven't seen anything like that. the wii for one thing doesn't have a flawed file system like windows lol. pc users have to be careful of everything they do, but try a linux machine or a mac for a while and you won't have such a gloom and doom outlook on internet browsing.
