I got another question for the admins/mods cause Im getting really tired of the people that FAIL on this site terrible cause they do not know how to read the rules. Is there someway that you guys can put a quiz into the sign up portion of the site that questions them about the FAQ/Site Rules. I found a link on vbulletin but I dont know if it would work or not. But here is the link anyway [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register]
It does not make a differants, They still will post in the wrong area.
Even the peeps that been here for awhile post in the wrong by answer the posters question.
Its a good thing that I am not a mod, Because the reading room will make em or break em !!

OK, I'm guilty of responding to posts in the wrong area. Occasionally, I direct them to the right area, but I have to admit I am more focused on helping them with their questions than where we are situated electronically. I am especially lenient with a first post remembering how daunting the terminology was at first.
I have been responding and just leaving it to the moderators/staff to take care of the bouncing. So, if I am not going to reprimand, I should ignore the question if posted in the wrong area is that correct Wiidoggii?

Will do, I'll pay a bit more attention to the location of the post in the future. You are right, the mods have more than enough to do without me contributing to the posting problem. Thanks.

Well, Wiidoggii may slap me again about this, but, I think the intro area is OK (not ideal and not correct but less egregious an infraction). I have seen a number of moderators respond to questions in the intro area. After all, that is their first post and probably the reason those folks joined in the first place. They also haven't yet received Theta Sigma's intro post yet.
I did see someone take that to the limits though recently by posting about 5 or so times (separate threads each time too!) in the Intro area. However, I think it's the other areas that gets the mods more upset. I now wait cringing in the corner for repudiation from Wiidoggii.

I think the difference is, if someone makes an introduction post AND asks a question in the same posting, thats not quite as bad (although probably not the greatest idea!).
I think the problem comes when people just can't be arsed to read where there posting and post stupid questions in the blatantly wrong sections (like the guy a couple days ago spamming the intro section with questions).
Its not a problem with this forum in particular, I moderate on another forum with about 4000 active members, i spend at least a couple of hours most evenings moving things to the right forums, everyday! Moderation for peoples laziness in not something a mod wants to be doing.

I don't like to see too many questions and answers going on in the Introductions forum but have yet to Infract anyone for it. I've deleted a few posts when things get out of hand and put a message in place instead. Usually that's enough and we never see them again, joys of forums I guess.
Most posts in wrong sections are not worth moving anyway and I usually just delete them, unless one of our great members has contributed.

you can almost see the look on their faces when their thinking "im sure i posted there!?!"
spending a time deleting crappy threads is quite theraputic, calms me down after a hard days work! lol
