Microsoft Word Sales Banned In 60 Days -- InformationWeek

apparently, MS has been banned from selling ms word because of specific file formats

    .DOCX really annoyed me anyway.

if you read the article it says something about a part of the format being copyrighted or something.

    Hi ThetaSigma,
I like OpenOffice too, but when I got my nephew a Linux Netbook I ran into a few draconian college professors. Example: one of his profs required a specific font for written assignments; so I had to find the equivalent and install it for him. There are other oddities that I have to install/fix for my nephew. The college is thrown if one doesn't have a Windows system and use MS Office. Anyway, keep the word out on OpenOffice.
