system update
hello to everyone! I have a modchipped wii and want to play sports resort on a back up disc , my firmware is 3.2 at the moment, the update seems to fail from the disc can i update from wifi connection or will it brick my modded wii?if you understand my question:confused:
-
If you just have the mod chip installed with out HBC, Then yes you can upgrade via the wifi connection..
If you have HBC installed, Then use Wininakoko's upgrade.
-
i have downloaded the Wininakoko's upgrade but i dont know how to install it
-
Do you have HBC installed (Home Brew Channel)?
If YES, Then the file has to be put in new folder under the apps folder.
And the dol file has to be renamed boot.dol.
EXP; apps/update/boot.dol
Then run the app via HBC.

Wanikoko's update is a .dol file that needs to go in a folder in apps on your sd card. i.e. sd:/apps/wanis4update/
As is typical with Wanikoko you'll need to rename the file to boot.dol so that HBC will see it and enable you to open it.
I bet you'll still not be able to play Wii Sports Resort without updating by disc even after updating to 4.1 though.
Do not consider this course of action if you have downgraded from 4.0 to 3.2 previously.

Note; Make sure you upgrade with the right region.
If not you will brick your Wii.
4.1U = US
4.1E = EUR
4.1J = JAP
