Why do burned games burn wear laser?

I'm not concerned about it i am just curious. i know that the allegide reason is is that the burned games dye makes the laser "work" hard but how? if the laser is set to work at a set rate for strictly wii games than why do burned -R make it work harder?

    This time i made sure....

The laser in you dvd drive is a on/off device, it will not wear out. The lens will not wear out either. Google hard enough and you will see.

the copied games do wear out the laser, but only a tiny bit more than commercial disks. its a matte rof hours, or a day or two of life that it can take from your wii. dont be worried. a modchip does the same thing.

the commercial wii discs are not dvd-r, they are a special disk where the face is pressed on with the data already on it. its not built for reading dvd-rs.

Just for info, the main thing that causes premature wear or failure is if you write backup copies of original discs faster than 4 speed. My personal experience I have seen lasers burnt out in PS2 consoles in a matter of days because the user had written the data at 16X speed.

Also If you playing copied games you more likely to have downloaded them rather than have bought them.So you probably have a lot more games than you would of if you had to buy them all. Therefore you are now playing on your Wii more often, thus wearing our your laser sooner.

@ jonathanb9595 yup poor laser working so hard.Hdd is the way to go.give the poor laser a rest.
