Disc are more tangible esp if you got the covers all printed make it look all impressive having a long line of titles rather than a little hdd next to you wii.

I think the drive is going to go bad if you play orginals or burned copies, I went thru a many DVD players, they just don't last, not to mention my Xbox 1. Lets not forget, if you use DVD media other than Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim, it seem like the data on the disc degrades, some discs degrade quicker than others, especially burning at high speeds, that's why I burn at 4x.

Ya burn slow give you much better quality.also the dye they use in DVD makes a big differnce thats why you shouldn't by cheap DVD's also dont leave them in the open, sunlight speeds up the decay of the dye.And of course if you handle your disks moer often scratches can be a problem for some.
But then again HDD's can crash and die too.

I've seriously been thinking about getting an external HDD. Most games work fine burnt on DVDrs but they tend to load a little slower at times. Also DVD DL games like SSBB just don't seem to work.

Which HDD do you use if I may ask?

I use a 80gig IDE Seagate in a Vantec External USB housing.USB Loader wouldn't pick up my Samsung 160SATA but that could of been the USB Adapter i was using. I believe IOS222 give better usb 2.0 support only i've not found a offline installer and my wii's not connected online.
