Cool Teaching Old Dogs New Tricks

As I recently turned 30 and started to go through the early pre-stages of mid-life crisis I have decided to finally go back to school. I am really excited and very confident about this decision as I know it will definitely improve my future.

My long-term goal is a Bachelors in Information Technology w/ Advanced Software Developer Certificate. I am in the market for something (preferably laptop) best suited for this kind of work. I consider myself a little above average when it comes to computer usage and learn very quickly. But just not sure what I should be looking for in terms of a computer.

ANY advice and experience is greatly appreciated and you WILL be thanked.

I did the same thing when I was in my early 30s. in 2007 I went back to school and got my Bachelors in Computer Information Systems in 2011 and then got my Masters of Information Systems Management in 2013.

I'm up to my eye-balls in debt, so my advice is that if you have tuition reimbursement available to you through your work, take advantage of it. We ended up doing so but used to money to help pay other bills and not the student loans.

Yeah I know a few people that have done the same thing including my wife before we were married. Sadly I am without a job at the moment. That's part of my reason for this. I know there is going to be some strict financing so I have certain things already in the works to help. Another of my worries is job placement, I guess we will see when we get there.
