WII ERROR "usb loader gx requires at least cios 222 or 245-250"

Hi friends. I am new to Wii Hacks and got my wii soft modded by someone. Now when i try to play games through USB, i get the following error , "USB loader gx requires at least cios 222 or 245-250" and does not play games through USB. Can anybody please help me considering me a newby and explain all the steps to resolve this issue. I am on WII 4.3.

Sounds like they didn't mod the system. Only installed HBC and a few apps, which in itself is not modding the system.

Follow the Softmod Any Wii guide linked in my signature to get your system modded the correct way, then your apps should work.

Thanks llafer for your reply. There are plenty of files in the link you posted here. Where to start?

Should i delete all the files from the SD card and from the WII and then start from scratch. OR

Do a system check as per your link and install some new files.

Can you please provide me step by step guidance considering me a newby.

    I really appreciate your help.

The guide is the step-by-step guide. We won't hold hands. we'll answer questions, but won't repeat what's in the guide.

The first thing the guide says is to read it thrice before doing anything to make sure you understand what is going on. have you done that yet? Your questions tell me the answer to my question is "NO".

Hi llaffer. I am updating my WII using your guide. The first step is to mothball some of the already installed channels. What i did is follow the below steps:
If you are updating from a previous "any wii" softmod, there may be some channels that may have been installed that can now be removed.
    Neogamma r8 channel
    Loadmii channel
USB loader gx channel (old channel)

To uninstall these channels, download- [/URL]mothballed channels.zip

    Extract to sd:\
Load Multi-Mod Manager from the HBC
    Load the wad manager
    Go to folder wad\mothballed channels
    Uninstall - A-LoadMii.wad
    Uninstall- B-USB Loader GX-Forwarder.wad
    Uninstall- Neogamma Channel - R8.wad
These channels are no longer included in the guide
Now even after i unistalled these channels they are still showing up on my wii. Not sure why?
    1. Just one more question, should i do a "FORMAT WII SYSTEM MEMORY" so that everything from the WII is deleted and start from the scratch.
    2. Also, should i delete whatever is on my sd card and format it before i start loading your stuff from the guide.

Hi llafer. I have reviewed the complete guide and now trying to remod my Wii using your guide. First i tried to uninstalled LoadMii.wad, USB Loader GX-Forwarder.wad and Neogamma Channel - R8.wad using mothballed channel program but after i delete them i still see them in the main menu. Should i ignore them now and proceed to the next step.

Also, do you think if i format the SD card and format the WII console from the SETTING would erase everything from the previous mod and would be then easy to mod from the scratch. Please advise.

If you actually read the previously linked guide, you'd not be asking any sort of questions relating to formatting your Wii. The guide tells you to read it three times; please do so, we ask this of our users to avoid questions that are already answered in it (yep, this question is answered in it).
