Indeed. They should have named it "naked gun 3.5"or "die hard 7 for gawd's sake where is my oxygen tank?"

Mandatory game installs tied to an account with a required fee to play used/borrowed/rented games sounds like a deal breaker to me.

They say that users will have the ability to buy/sell used games from other gamers (likely through Microsoft as the broker, taking a cut of the price) to transfer the rights-to-play from user to user.

The details about this are still not yet known.

One thing for sure, GameStop won't be buying or selling any XBO games second-hand like the other consoles.

Negatives as perceived by the serious gamer crowd:
    1. No longer game-centric; more of an after-thought/tacked on and video entertainment/TV first (reverse of 360)
    2. Not backwards compatible, goodbye library of accumulated 360 titles
    3. Pay for secondhand or borrowed game
    4. Always on/at least once every 24 hours.

    = FAIL, FAIL, FAIL, FAIL.

That was MSs mistake. Unlike Nintendo and Sony, they built the Xbox One with Multi-media in mind and games appear to come second. A game system should ALWAYS be about the games first and foremost. Sure, it's nice to have Hulu and Netflix but that should be a secondary thing, optional. Don't just shove it on people and be like "too bad, you have no choice".

After the smoke cleared from last week, now it seems the story is that the game can be installed, authenticated, and played on a second device and the game will be unauthenticated from the original device. The game will still exist, so when the game is returned and re-authenticated, it can be played again.

So based on this, you can borrow, trade, rent games the same as if you were doing so on a 360 game that requires the game in system at all times to play.

It still is a douche move. All they needed to say was "you can install the game to hard drive and play it, but disk needs to be in system to do so", and no one would have said anything. They try to add one step, which in the long run can save effort on the gamer, and people go ape.
