    Holy crap!!! I got it!

After each time it freezes, it sat there for like 3+ minutes and right before it became "somewhat" not froze, the circle loading wheel would show up (before freezing immediately). I tried a few times super super quick to go to settings (where LockInfo was said to exist) to disable the app. But would freeze a half a second later. Unsucsessful a handful of times, rebooted it a few times (holding sleep and home buttons) so I was loosing all hope. In the middle of writting my sad attempt to find help for the "TinyUmbrella" and internet disconnection advice, and 4.3 jailbreak advice.....and tried one last time. WOOT!! Was able to get in and it didn't freeze as quick and I disabled it. Now I am deleting the package from Cydia! Lesson learned! LMAO....Still gonna explore (why else would I jailbreak!!), but will try and be more cautious.....Thanks for the quick replies....

Why don't you simply try what I suggested? You can do that, and block the IP iTunes would use to "phone home" via any number of applications designed to allow/deny external connections...

That would have been my next move if I hadn't got it luckily! Very nice idea and was in the middle of posting for advice about it. But got lucky and it stop freezing just enough for me to remove the issue. So all is well now. But in theroy it sounds like it would work and if something did happen again....that's my first move! Have you ever heard of that Umbrella thing? Worth looking into, or just the same as denying iTunes internet access to do the update?

I have no personal experience with Umbrella, no. The way I look at it: far easier to deny access to the update (via disconnect/connection blocker) than to then seek methods to downgrade --- at least in my book, lol. I've been declining the update, I figured it was a counter to greenp0ison

Right, I totally agree. I love my newly pois0ned toy! Wouldn't want it to be brought back to life now would I? Also wouldn't want to go through the hassle of downgrading, unless I've done it before (which I haven't). The connection terminating was more appealing for sure, but I just got lucky i guess and all is back to normal. I wonder if the restore process would continue even if there wasn't an active connection. Like if it was already installed on the PC with my recent iTunes installation? I have no idea, but vendors are coming out with some crazy ways to stop us "hackers"....disc updates for the Wii for example and others I'm not aware of as well. A company like Apple probably has some techniques of their own to stop the jailbreaking of their precious devices! I know I didn't want to try a 4.3 jailbreak though, so am happy I got out alive! Thanks again for the help and suggestions!

It claimed to customize the lock screen with important items like apps and items you'd use all the time. But putting it on your lockscreen rather then having to unlock to see your stuff. Didn't read to much about it but it might have just had a conflict with an already installed lockscreen app I had installed(htc weather widget). But disabled the first one before getting the freezing issue, so assume it wasn't that. Just read about it and it seems legit and usefu, but not so much for iPod users. Maybe I just got it from a bad source or something. Who knows...lol. Won't be getting it again that's for sure.

Checked this "TinyUmbrella" out today and searched for SHSH Blobs that were available on my iPod Touch 3G 4.2.1.

    It found 2 available:
    4.3
    4.1

So that means if something happens to my iPod, I can restore to either of those two only? And what is this Saurik's server you speak of? Is that the programs server, or something else? I guess I was to late to get the 4.2.1 "blob", as Apple only gives a certain time window to get them backed up or something. I'm still unclear about this program, but have them backed up for future reference. I wouldn't mind updating to 4.3, but don't see anything positive about it at the moment for iPod Touch users.

Is there an untethered jailbreak for 4.3 yet?? I see some places that say yes, and some that say no. My brother updated his non-jailbroken iPod touch to 4.3 and he asked if I could do his. So anyone have any advice or more info on the the 4.3 jailbreak or the TinyUmbrella program? I have read up on their site, but still would like some personal experiences and information from actual users in a way we can better understand. Thanks!
