Where is your computer's backup for all important data, which should include your iTunes library, or did you lose all data on your old computer?
Besides what mentioned above, i like to share you a article about How to transfer or sync iPhone to new computer, which included transferring iPhone contents to computer/iTunes.
Hopefully this works for all of you like it just worked for me!
I think it seems rather obvious in that the only backup existed on his computer. I believe you can resync (presuming jailbroken), but it's a PITA. Probably can be found within this section of the forum somewhere, I had to do it once before...
iRip allows you to rip all your Music, Videos and Books onto your new computer but it isn't free.
As for backing up contacts etc, make sure to backup those up via iTunes on the new computer; not sure how it'll work.

You can hook up your iPod to as many computers as you wish. However, when you do so it will erase the iPod and sync it to the library of the current computer. Unless you set it to manually manage (here's how) your iPod first, which will allow you to keep the songs currently on it, as well as manually add more. But if you set it to automatically update, it will wipe off all of the music and then sync it with the music on your laptop.
If all of your music is on the other computer, you can use your iPod as a hard drive to transfer it over to your laptop. (here's how to use your iPod as a hard disk)
Another way to get the music on your laptop is to leave it on your iPod as is, then use an iPod ripping application to get the music off of the iPod. This is not supported by Apple, but there are several third party applications that can do it.
For Windows you can use: iPod Access, iDump, or this methodwithout additional software.
For Mac you can use Senuti.

You can do it by just going to the apple store or just plug your iphone in to the new cpu
You manage what content is added to and removed from your iPhone by syncing it.
The first step to sync the iPhone to computer is very simple: plug the cable that came with the iPhone into a USB port on your computer and the other end into the dock connector on the bottom of the iPhone. When you plug the cable in, your phone will begin to sync. The rest of the iPhone sync process happens in iTunes.
The first screen you come to is the iPhone management screen. If offers basic overview and option information about your phone. Click to other screens via the tabs at the top.you can also google iPhone to computer transfer to find some useful instruction.
