Can it be done yet? I know a decent amount about DS and Wii hacking but now I'm considering doing my iPhone and figured WiiHacks can steer me in the right direction.
Also what's the difference between a tethered and untethered jailbreak?

Tethered means you have to connect the jailbroken device to your computer each and every time your iOS device reboots. Untethered does not require that.
So with a tethered jailbreak I wouldn't be able to use my phone for anything unless it was plugged into my computer?Quote:

Ahh, that explains it nicely. So it appears I would only need to plug it in to my comp if it requires a reboot.
Thanks for the helpful link :)
One more question, jailbreak (tethered or not), is reversible right? I can remove it and go back to the official iOS if I don't want the jailbreak anymore?
Yes just reinstall the o.g. iOS that u had b4 u installed the jailbreak.
Awesome! I think I'll do the tethered jailbreak just to try it out and see if I like having a jail broken iPhone, if I do I'll update to untethered when it's available and if not I'll go back to the official iOS :)
Thanks for the info guys, I think this will be enough. Now I just need to find a guide so I don't brick my phone :p
Jailbreaking remains easy, any software bricks are fixable too (it's not easy to brick btw), the one thing that has become slightly more difficult is restoring and downgrading as you now need to stitch your shsh blobs to the firmware.
Without the required shsh you can only restore to the latest firmware meaning you could potentially be pushed to an unjailbreakable iOS if you were to have a software problem.
Tethered Jailbreaks are far from ideal but it gives you a good idea of the potential.
I'm on 6.0.1 right now, is there any way to downgrade to 6.0 or lower and jail break from there? Ideally I'd like to go back to 6.0 cause it has the same features as 6.0.1 but its fully jail breakable, untethered so it seems it would be the ideal iOS for me to use
Unless you had used tinyumbrella to save your shsh previously then that won't be possible, it's all dependant on which firmware apple are signing at the time hence the reason your personal shsh is required.
Is the phone new or preowned as a previous owner may have backed some up to cydia meaning you could downgrade, also run tinyumbrella on pc and see what you get.
